Plain terms for a quiet door. By using clearcomet.com (or any of our addresses that redirect to it) or the ClearComet Cloak for MCP plugin, you agree to the following.
ClearComet Cloak for MCP (“Cloak for MCP”) and this site are operated by ClearComet Ventures, LLC (“we”). These terms cover the plugin and this site.
What Cloak for MCP is
Cloak for MCP is a security aid. It hides your WordPress MCP endpoints from requests that don’t carry your key or come from an allowed address. It reduces exposure; it does not make a site impossible to attack. No security tool can promise that, and we don’t. Keep your logins, Application Passwords, updates and backups in good order.
Cloak for MCP is one layer of defense, not a complete security solution. We don’t guarantee it will stop all unauthorized access, probing or attacks.
Updates and changes
Cloak for MCP is a live, free product. Updates can add, change or remove features. Test each new version on a staging site, or a site you can afford to troubleshoot, before relying on it.
As is
The website and the plugin are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (consistent with the GNU General Public License the plugin is released under), including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that either will be error-free, uninterrupted or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ClearComet Ventures, LLC and anyone involved in making Cloak for MCP won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for data loss, downtime, security breaches, or lost profits, revenue or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or the plugin, even if told such damages were possible. Where liability can’t be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Cloak for MCP, if any.
Your responsibilities
You’re responsible for your own site, its security, its configuration, its backups, your keys and Application Passwords, and who you let in. Don’t use the plugin or this site for anything unlawful, or to attack or probe systems you don’t own or have permission to test.
The plugin’s license
Use of the plugin is also governed by the license it ships with. If that license and these terms conflict, the license wins for the plugin’s code.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions? Write to [email protected].
